There is a ton of buzz on the internet about acai berry and its antioxidant benefits, in fact there have even been specials on TV shows like Oprah about the benefits of eating acai berry.
Wherever you go you can see acai berry diet supplements, acai berry juices, and acai berry energy bars, so with all these great acai products, what is the acai berry diet?

Generally speaking, going on an acai berry diet plan is more about finding ways to incorporate acai berry into your daily eating habits. This can be done by adding fresh acai into your breakfast, lunch, and even dinner (usually dessert). There are dieticians that claim that by eating acai everyday, you will lose weight due to the fact that the fruit acts as a type of natural appetite suppressant and can improve a person’s metabolic rate.


Health Benefits of Acai

While there is some debate regarding the weight loss effects of acai, no one can argue that the berry contains amazing health benefits such as the ability to slow down the aging process, increase immunity, detoxify the body, and protect us from diseases like cancer and cardiovascular disease. This is mainly due to the fact that this fruit is extremely high in antioxidants, phytosterols, anthocyanins, amino acids and essential fatty acids, all of which promote an extremely healthy body and lifestyle.


Ways to eat Acai?

There are several ways to eat acai, you can drink it as a juice or smoothie, as an acai breakfast bowl (mixed with fresh cut apples, apple juice, banana, and nuts), and even into acai bread. Acai is quite versatile, but to be honest, the best is to enjoy it in a bowl mixed with soy milk, almonds, granola and banana (my personal favorite acai recipe).


What about Acai supplements?

Finding fresh acai berries can sometimes be a hard task, but you shouldn’t worry as there is a ton of acai products that have the same health benefits as regular acai. One thing before buy any nutritional supplement is that you buy the product from a reputable company, regardless if it a syrup, pill, or juice just make sure you are buying a quality acai supplement.

So if you are looking to add a food that contains amazing health benefits, fights cancer and can help you lose weight, you have to try the acai diet, your body will thank you – Oprah’s body did.
