Having a baby is an amazing experience, but with the positives come some challenges.
One challenge that concerns many new moms is that of losing the weight they gained during pregnancy. During pregnancy, some women have been known to gain up to 100 pounds. It is recommended by medical professionals to try to lose this weight in a slow and steady pace, as not to shock you body’s system – something not good as you may be breast feeding you new born baby.

Here are some great after pregnancy workout routines that will help get you back into shape and looking great.Take your baby for a nice stroller walk; try to walk for 90 minutes total, 3-4 times a week for really great cardio and weight loss benefits.
Make sure to cover the baby from the elements as they can be sensitive to the elements and remember that this workout is preferable to do during the summer months as winter will be too cold for a walk with a new born child. For extra calories, try bringing a pair up light dumbbells for a post cardio weight session.

Another fantastic way to get back into shape after birth is to join an after pregnancy yoga class as this will be great for you flexibility and breathing as well as it will help you out with all the stress you will be having with the birth of your newborn child.

One of the best ways to get back into serious shape after pregnancy is to do Pilates as it will strengthen you core and muscles, increase flexibility and help you lose weight. You can find a Pilates class at any local gym and if going to the gym isn’t your thing, you can always practice Pilates at home with a home Pilates video and Pilates mat.

These workouts will help you lose weight and have more energy to give to your newborn child.
