Nowadays there are a ton of diets, weight loss programs, weight loss pills, fat burning creams and other magical solutions to losing weight seriously. What really works is following a sensible diet and working out. Working out helps you lose weight effectively by burning calories that you have consumed. An effective workout program is all about making a lifestyle change by working out a 3 – 5 times a week.
There are a few golden rules of working out that should be followed in order to get realistic weight loss results. The first rule of working out is to make it a part of your healthy lifestyle. This means to include working out into your schedule, no matter how busy you are.
The second rule when trying to workout to lose weight is to make sure you warm up properly before working out. This will help blood flow to your muscles and better help protect you from injury. A typical warm up should take 5 minutes and include some light stretching.
The third rule of working out is to take things slowly. Remember the saying “Rome wasn’t built in one day”; well the saying goes true when starting to work out. Whether lifting weights or doing cardio make sure to introduce yourself to your new workout in a slow and gentle manner. Throughout time you should aim to perform 20 minutes of weight lifting and 30 minutes of cardio.
The fourth rule of working out is to perform a 10 minute cool down and light stretching session. This will help excess lactic acid to be released from your muscles, thus aiding in quicker recovery. Try relaxing your mind while cooling down as you will find it will help you release excessive stress that you may have had from the day before.
The final rule of working out is to make sure you replenish your body with the nutrients it needs after doing a tough weight loss workout. This means drinking a good amount of water and eating a nice light meal that contains both lean protein and a bit of low calorie carbs.
Following these rules when working out will definitely help you get the most out of your workouts.
